Spruce Baugher’s bio includes playing the drums and singing for local and touring regional rock bands for 15 years on many stages across the Midwest. Learning acoustic guitar and songwriting came after hearing trouble. With Hyperacusis, a sudden sensitivity to sound suddenly put a halt to my drumming career. Followed sometime later by a major health and midlife crisis of significant magnitude that made me begin to make some very different choices. "If Not Now? When?" So I bought an old 1970 VW bus and made the hero’s journey to Oregon to work on my music and songwriting skills. eventually playing venues, house concerts, and hosting open mic nights... Recording 3 original albums in the last 20 years and sharing my time between La Ventana Baja, Mexico, and Hood River, Oregon, has made my music reflective of the surf vagabond lifestyle that I live: wingsurfing, playing music, singin' songs, and being surrounded by beauty and contemplative moments on the land and sea. I integrate drums, acoustic guitar, and occasional harmonica in my shows I mix inspiring originals and choice covers I dub “Folk n’ Roll.”
